The podcast this week, “The Power of Honor,” is a compelling discussion about what honor is in the Kingdom, and why it is so important.
The greatest in the Kingdom is the servant, and it is the greatest honor – to love and serve. How we honor others (how we see them and treat them), is how we honor Jesus.
Honor is compelled by love. Love flows through honor. To be loved (or honored) is to be known, accepted, seen, heard, and safe. Honor is about recognizing who someone is. And not who they “are” through our lens of human judgement, but who they are from God’s perspective.
EVERY human being is worth the love of God (because He said so), and therefore worthy of honor. Honor is the pipeline through which love flows – we, the body of Christ, honor people because Jesus honored us.
In this podcast we talk about:
- How God honors us
- Who, exactly, we are called to honor
- What honor looks like
- How our identity in Christ is the foundation of honor
- How judgement stops honor
Honor is not about being seen, but it is about seeing others as they really are – part of God’s family. We can’t receive the gift of who someone is until we SEE who they are. Honor brings healing. Honor starts with us.
