My Beloved Child,
Remember the lyrics from Bob Marley, “Don’t worry about a thing, ‘cause every little thing is going to be alright?”
Well, that’s the song I’m singing over you today. Yes, that’s right. I sing all kinds of songs over you, even reggae ones, if that’s what will encourage you. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. Those songs that randomly pop into your head or you hear upon waking, where do you think they come from?
I love to sing songs of victory over you to encourage you and remind you that I’m with you.
Zephaniah 3:17 declares I rejoice over you with joyful songs! And when I rejoice it’s always a dance party! ‘Rejoice’ may seem like a biblical word, and so it is, but don’t let that diminish its meaning. Rejoicing in Zephaniah’s time was wild and free.
In fact, the Hebrew word for “rejoice” means to spin around under the influence of violent emotion because you are overjoyed.
In other words, it means dance. So when I rejoice over you with joyful songs, it means I’m dancing as I sing over you. And today, I am dancing and singing Bob Marley lyrics over you! I know that might shatter your stodgy image of Me. But I am not a stodgy God.
I am the Author of freedom and fun and I enjoy shattering your image of Me as an old man with a beard and long pointy finger.
That is not an accurate representation of Me at all. And today, instead of worrying about tomorrow, how about singing a little reggae and dancing with Me? Go ahead, I dare you. Put on Bob’s “Three Little Birds (Don’t Worry About a Thing)” and join Me.
And don’t doubt for a second, I’ll be singing and dancing with you as a way to remind you.
I’ve got you. Together we’re going to sing and dance our way through whatever circumstances you face. And I promise. If you’ll sing and dance with Me, whatever seemed so impossible, won’t seem so big anymore.
There’s nothing that’s impossible for Me, child, so let Me handle the “impossible” while we sing and dance together.
Kisses from Heaven,
Dad
